Training 

North of Tyne LPC, Gateshead & South Tyneside LPC,  Sunderland LPC,  Co Durham & Darlington LPC and Tees LPC  have organised training for contractors and their pharmacists in the area.

 The training will ensure you have the relevant competences required to  provide the national NHS Seasonal Flu Vaccination Service.  

We have arranged training with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.   The training is designed to be used as formal face to fcae training for Flu service and can be used for Pharmacist training for the first time as well as those who just need an annual update / refresher.

Please note you are not obliged to use the LPC training you can use training from any other provider or via your own in house training if available.  We have listed some other providers below.  There are also other providers listed on the PSNC website.

Training Requirements
NHS England has determined that pharmacists providing the flu vaccination service need to attend face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support training every two years.
 
This requirement means that a pharmacist who undertook face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support in 2014 would not need to undertake face-to-face training in 2015. Assuming the service continues to be commissioned in 2016, the pharmacist would then need to undertake face-to-face training in order to continue to provide the service. Pharmacists who last undertook face-to-face training in 2013 (or before) would need to undertake face-to-face training in 2015, prior to providing the flu vaccination service. In light of this requirement your LPC may be able arrange some local training sessions, please contact your LPC immediately if you do need to attend face to face training in 2015 and would be interested in attending local training.
 
COSTS
The LPC organised training will cost £40.   Please note that we are using EventBrite to manage our event online and Gateshead & South Tyneside LPC to manage payments so you may see both of these mentioned when registering.
