Training

North of Tyne LPC, Gateshead & South Tyneside LPC,  Sunderland LPC,  Co Durham & Darlington LPC and Tees LPC  have organised training for contractors and their pharmacists in the area.

The training will ensure you have the relevant competences required to  provide the national NHS Seasonal Flu Vaccination Service.*

We have arranged training with the National Pharmacy Association (NPA).   The training is designed to be used as formal face to face training for the Flu service (please see the Training Requirements section below).

You are not obliged to use the LPC training you can use training from any other provider or via your own in house training if available.  There is a list of alternative providers included on the PSNC website

Training Requirements
NHS England has determined that pharmacists providing the flu vaccination service need to attend face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support training every two years.

This requirement means that a pharmacist who most recently undertook face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support in 2014 or before will need face to-face training in 2016.

Pharmacists who undertook face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support in 2015 would not need to undertake face-to-face training in 2016. There is no requirement in the service for an annual update although pharmacists may choose to do this.

Anaphylaxis training is required every two years.

Declaration of Competence (DoC)
Completion of the DoC must take place every two years. Click here for more information.

COSTS
The LPC organised face to face training will cost each delegate £102.   Details of what is included in the training are shown below. Please note that we are using Eventbrite to manage our events online and so you may see this mentioned when registering.
